The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) is a set of U.S. Federal regulations designed to promote accessibility in building design for people with physical challenges of many types including mobility, vision, speech and hearing. These regulations cover a wide range of building design criteria and navigation within buildings including size of doorways, free space within rooms, types of equipment in offices, restrooms and kitchens.  As well as location and design of signs used to navigate the building.
